R.I.P. StuffBlackPeopleHate.com?
One of my closest BFF’s (no brokeback) Chris, has been the creative genius behind StuffBlackPeopleHate.com. In half a year, he’s garnered a groundswell of visitors and a pear tree full of partridges - in terms of a following. As a regular reader of the site - I can speak for others, we’ve not only drank the kool-aide, we’ve drank the purple kool-aide…mmm! There are a few conclusions I can high-jump to, however. As far as stuff that black people do hate, I imagine they hate wal

Michael Jordan biographical film
Idris Elba has been talking about his plans to get a Michael Jordon biographical film off the ground, and he most likely won't be starring, but he does want to direct. What's really interesting about the film is it won't be a typical sports film, if Elba has his way, it will concentrate on more how Jordan became such a worldwide and household name and grew so big. Not physically, but in terms of becoming a global business. Talking about the project he does reveal that it's

Man convicted of Michael Jordan father's murder wants sentence change
A sentencing mistake is keeping one of the two men convicted of killing Michael Jordan's father from seeking parole, a lawyer said Monday. Larry Martin Demery, 32, was sentenced to life in prison in the July 1993 shooting death of James Jordan, who was sleeping in his car beside a highway when he was killed in Robeson County. Demery also was sentenced to 40 years for a pair of robberies earlier in the month. Lawyer Hugh Rogers said the sentences were to be served concurrently, but the state Department

American Cancer Society is pissed over Michael Jordan cigar smoking pics
PETA picks a lot of small fights with celebrities over things that seem pointless and a often trite. Like they went after Sharon Stone for insisting that a live spider have its pincers removed before filming a scene with it in some B horror movie in the early 80s. PETA said she had a “heart of Stone” for forcing the spider to be an “amputee,” calling it a “tiny insect” even though it probably looked like one of those spiders that’s as big as your hand. They partiall

Michael Jordan Biopic Planned
IGN recently caught up with Stringer Bell himself, The Wire's Idris Elba, to discuss new film Rocknrolla. We'll post the full Q&A later in the week, but for now, here's a titbit of information on the Michael Jordan biopic he's planning to shoot. "I am trying to make that happen," he explained. "Michael is a very private guy, but we're working at it slowly. The film that I'm trying to make isn't about the actual basketball, it's about the business. Michael Jordan is such a big international brand - how do

Yvette Prieto is the brunettish-blonde hottie that Michael Jordan has crowned as his latest and sexiest girlfriend. Jordan was married to Juanita Vanoy for seventeen years before their divorce was finalized in 2006. The older grandpa looking dude in the photo is former NBA tough guy Charles Oakley. No word on how well Jordan shares off the court.

Spike Lee may revisit Katrina
Spike Lee may not be done with Hurricane Katrina yet. The director of the HBO miniseries "When the Levees Broke" said Thursday he's considering visiting the area where Katrina struck again in the next 24 months for a potential follow-up to "Levees." "I'm going to go back, not just to New Orleans but to other areas affected, because it's not over," he said at Silverdocs, the AFI/Discovery Channel documentary fest in Silver Spring, Md., near Washington, D.C. While Lee didn't specify what the project

Spike Lee rips Coens and Eastwood at Cannes
Spike Lee is in Cannes to promote a new film, but he couldn't resist taking a few swipes at some fellow directors, including Joel and Ethan Coen and Clint Eastwood. Speaking about his World War II drama "Miracle at St. Anna," Lee said that, unlike the Coens, he was respectful in the way he portrayed death. "I always treat life and death with respect, but most people don't," Lee said at a news conference Tuesday. "Look, I love the Coen brothers; we all studied at NYU. But they treat life like a joke. H

Bad Tipper: LeBron James Tips 1.25% on $800 Tab
LeBron James might be the ‘King of Akron’ but he is not going to have too many waiters lining up to serve him and his posse in Cleveland if he continues to tip 1.25% on $800 tabs. Here is how it all went down: "It went down like this: LeBron pulls up in his Mercedes outside XO. People stop and try not to stare, but c’mon, it’s LeBron James. He enters the restaurant with a group of friends. On this special occasion, the King decides to dine late. He keeps his group there until around 3:45 a.m.

Richest Celeb Divorces: How Heather's $50 Mil Measures Up
Yes, the nearly $50 million Paul McCartney is paying ex-wife Heather Mills is a lot of money, but it's no record-breaker as far as celebrity divorce settlements are concerned. That crown still gets shared among basketball great Michael Jordan, musician Neil Diamond and box-office champ Steven Spielberg and their exes. After nearly 18 years together, Juanita Jordan walked away from her marriage to the hoop star in 2006 with a $150 million parting gift, just like onetime TV production assistant Marcia
