What's really interesting about the film is it won't be a typical sports film, if Elba has his way, it will concentrate on more how Jordan became such a worldwide and household name and grew so big. Not physically, but in terms of becoming a global business.

A sentencing mistake is keeping one of the two men convicted of killing Michael Jordan's father from seeking parole, a lawyer said Monday.
Larry Martin Demery, 32, was sentenced to life in prison in the July 1993 shooting death of James Jordan, who was sleeping in his car beside a highway when he was killed in Robeson County. Demery also was sentenced to 40 years for a pair of robberies earlier in the month.

Spike Lee may revisit Katrina
Spike Lee may not be done with Hurricane Katrina yet.
The director of the HBO miniseries "When the Levees Broke" said Thursday he's considering visiting the area where Katrina struck again in the next 24 months for a potential follow-up to "Levees."
"I'm going to go back, not just to New Orleans but to other areas affected, because it's not over," he said at Silverdocs, the AFI/Discovery Channel documentary fest in Silver Spring, Md., near Washington, D.C.
