Night Shyamalan"s first R-rated film, "The Happening," with Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel, is not quite the morbid slog it was on the big screen, and "The Visitor," a life-affirming character piece written and directed by Tom McCarthy ("The Staton Agent") and starring "Six Feet Under"s" Richard Jenkins, resonates on many levels.
