Family Guy: Fox has pulled the final episode of its animated series “Sit Down, Shut Up,” which Mr. Hurwitz adapted from a live-action Australian high school comedy of the same name. The Fox show debuted on April 19 in a Sunday time slot between the network's hit cartoon series “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy,” but failed to match the ratings of either show. A fifth episode scheduled for Sunday has been pulled and the show is unlikely to be renewed for next season. ... Read full story at New York Times

'Family Guy' spinoff nabs second season
The animated comedy, centered on the Cleveland Brown character from "Family Guy," was originally targeted for a debut this spring. But in November, the network decided to push the launch to fall 2009 to give the creative team more time for development and production. At the same time, Fox showed its confidence in the project by picking up another nine episodes, bringing the total order to a full season of 22 episodes.

EXCLUSIVE: Ron Howard On ‘Arrested Development’ Film: ‘It’s Going Ahead’
The status of the “Arrested Development” movie has vexed and teased fans of the Emmy-winning Fox show almost since the day it was unjustly canceled. The project’s various rumors — it’s happening! It’s dead! Wait, it’s totally on again! — were more confusing than Tobias Fünke’s sexual preferences. Last month at Sundance, Michael Cera told MTV News that there was no script and he didn’t even know if he’d reprise his role as George Michael Bluth. Then co-star...

Johnny Knoxville - Trailer - Showtimes - Cast - Movies & TV - NYTimes.com
From All Movie Guide: Johnny Knoxville became both a beloved goofball and a lightning rod for controversy as soon as his signature TV show, Jackass, premiered on MTV in 2000. The show, which featured Knoxville and his friends executing a variety of stupid pranks and dangerous stunts, made an instant star of its hip, easygoing, developmentally arrested host, who was quickly signed on for a variety of film projects. However, its subject matter of foolish bicycle jumps, gross eating feats, and...

Seth Rogen - Trailer - Showtimes - Cast - Movies & TV - NYTimes.com
From All Movie Guide: Canadian-born actor Seth Rogen tapped into his skills as a comedian when he was only 13, signing up for comedy classes and honing his deadpan style. He tooled around as an amateur for a few years but eventually took his act down south, hoping to find success as an actor and standup comedian in the U.S. He was soon discovered by Judd Apatow and was cast in his short-lived series Freaks and Geeks. After its cancellation, Apatow cast Rogen in his next series,...

New Mix-Tapes Inspired By ‘Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist,’ PLUS: Why Michael Cera Totally Wants To Run Away With Us
Like every other gal with a pulse, we’ve had a thing for Michael Cera (pictured above with his costar, Whatsherface) ever since we caught our first glimpse of his pale, Canadian bodice and thin, hawk-like proboscis on Arrested Development. And after watching Cera perfect the role of Awkward/Sensitive Guy Friend in Superbad and Juno respectively, our admiration has grown steadily, evolving from an innocent schoolgirl crush to a dangerous, psycho-stalker level obsession. (Think “Stage 5 Clinger

Remember Mystery, from VH1's The Pick Up ... [The Pick Up Artist]
Remember Mystery, from VH1's The Pick Up Artist? We got an awesome email from a male reader who was out in LA last night with his two female roommates. He went to go to the bathroom and when he returned, Mystery was hitting on the two girls, and trying to perform magic tricks that reminded our reader more of Gob from Arrested Development, than of a professional Casanova. He confronted Mystery on his trademark "neg" strategy, in which he tries to insult women to lure them in. Mystery denied that, and then aw

AP - Michael Cera always seems to be pining for something: booze and a popular classmate in "Superbad"; the sly soul mate he impregnated in "Juno"; a lovely but forbidden cousin in TV's "Arrested Development."

G.W.E.E.! Michael “Super Adorable” Cera
(In our second stab at our weekly installment of G.W.W.E [Guys We Want to Eff], we decided to take on the almost inappropriately young looking, but totally adorable, Michael Cera. If you were one of the few who watched, you will remember him at George Michael on Arrested Development. Or you may have fallen in love with him and his short shorts as quirky Pauli Bleeker in Juno. Whatever. You should totally know who he is, and even if you don’t one look at him and you will totally understand why he is

EXCLUSIVE: Progress On ‘Arrested Development’ Movie Slows As Creator Concentrates On Other Projects, Says Ron Howard
If you’re like any of us at MTV News, you’re probably wondering what keeps holding up the big screen adaptation of “Arrested Development” from moving forward. Well, now we have our answer: the new Fox show, “Sit Down, Shut Up.” Mitch Hurwitz’s animated comedy debuted earlier this month, and between writing and producing that series, and developing other television projects, the “Arrested” creator hasn’t had a chance to start writing a script for his Emmy-winning Fox...

Family Guy: The Movie is in “early stages”
We’ve heard this before , but it sounds like Seth MacFarlane is actually starting to move forward with a Family Guy movie. Here’s what he had to say last week:

Sit Down, Shut Up: World's Greatest Teacher
I'm still not completely sure what I think about Sit Down, Shut Up yet. This is the third episode, and this is what I have so far: it's funny enough that if I were flipping channels and came across it, I'd keep it on FOX, but if I didn't have to review it, I wouldn't set my DVR. This week's episode, in which Knob Haven High was up for a distinguished school award, definitely had its funny moments -- the very end where Ennis realizes that he slept with Miracle's mother made me chuckle....

Sit Down, Shut Up: Miracles Are Real
Last week, when I rewatched Sit Down, Shut Up for my review, I said that while I still wasn't enthralled by it, the show was much better upon the second viewing. Since I thought episode 2 was much better than the pilot, I expected to like it even more upon rewatching. Oddly enough, I didn't. As stellar as this cast is, I'm trying to separate my feelings about this show from my feelings about them. I love Kristin Chenoweth on Pushing Daisies , so I don't really want to admit that her work...

Amy Poehler is "surprisingly promiscuous" - VIDEO
The fact that Will Arnett may not actually be the father of wife Amy Poehler 's baby is just one of the shocking tidbits you learn from Jason Bateman on the soundstage for Sit Down, Shut Up , Mitch Hurwitz's upcoming animated comedy in which he and Arnett both lend their voices. We heard about the mini Arrested Development reunion almost a year ago, and while the series doesn't premiere until April 19th, FOX has given us a taste of what to expect. The video is great because it's not...
