I had an inkling that when I began seeing images from Darren Aronofsky’s “The Wrestler” that this thing had potential to be as good as, say, Clint Eastwood’s “Million Dollar Baby”, the last “tough guy” movie that made me feel all sorts of unmanly things that manly man aren’t supposed to feel. After playing Marv in “Sin City” and now this, I don’t think there’s any doubt that Mickey Rourke is just now hitting his stride as an actor

Now I don’t normally do posts on dramas or sappy crap, but I have to admit that The Wrestler, starring the once uber-cool (still semi-cool) Mickey Rourke, looks fantastic. It may have to do with the fact that I was a huge wrestling nerd when I was younger, or it could be that we get to see Marisa Tomie as a stripper in the movie. Hmm, I’m leaning more towards the latter. The Wrestler hits theatres December 17th, 2008.

It's a film that has done nothing but rack up the rave reviews since it premiered at the Venice Film Festival. Whether it be kudos for star Mickey Rourke or director Darren Aronofsky, people just can't get enough of THE WRESTLER.
