Cocaine Diaries with Alex James
Blur Bassist in BBC Cocaine DocumentaryDropping a former coke addict into the midst of the Colombian drug trade for television purposes doesn't seem like the smartest idea. But BBC America has done exactly that, and not with just any former coke addict. It was Blur bassist Alex James, who "once bragged that he spent over a million pounds on cocaine at the height of his addiction," according to a press release. Not only did James return intact, but the resulting documentary, Cocaine Diaries: Alex J

Alex James: 'Blur reunion may still happen'
Former Blur bassist Alex James has said that he would be "surprised" if the band never worked together at some point in the future.
James, singer Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon and drummer Dave Rowntree had been expected to reconvene in late 2007 to record new material, but despite meeting up as a foursome for a meeting the sessions never took place.
Rumours of a reunion have died down since, but today (May 21) James indicated that the possibility of a reunion is still not dead in the water.

Breaking Cheese News [How Does It Taste?]
Alex James, probably best known for being in Blur and not being Damon Albarn or Graham Coxon, is now in the cheesemaking biz, although he hasn't left his love for music behind. James is beginning production on a blue veined cheese inspired by New Order, cleverly named Blue Monday. To keep the references coming, James is producing the cheese in a twelve-inch wheel, although it was not revealed if he plans to take a financial loss on each cheese sold. [Contact Music]

Blur Bassist Makes Beautiful Blue Cheese
The worlds of rock and food don’t usually pair well together. A handful of superstars have certainly eased their way into (semi)-retirement by slapping their name on a few bottles of liquor—Jay-Z’s Armadale vodka, Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo tequila—but that’s about it. It’s usually reality television that musicians look toward to pay for their retirement, not their own pasta lines.
Well if you don’t know Alex James for anything, you’ll know him now for his cheese. According to Idolator an
Blur Finally Puts An End To All Those Reunion Rumors [Reunions]
This week's NME leads with the revelation that Blur is planning to reunite, news that's been speculated over ever since, well, the day they took a break from putting out music together. So far Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James, and Dave Rowntree are only lined up to play one gig—next July in London's Hyde Park—but already rumors that a Glastonbury appearance is in the cards are thick as well. "It just felt it was right again," Albarn told the NME. "It somehow feels like there's something for us to

"It just felt it was right again," Albarn told the New Musicial Express. "It somehow feels like there's something for us to do again, we're not completely useless or pointless, we've got a reason to exist."
Formed in 1989, Blur have recorded seven studio albums a
Hey Internet: Thanks For Nothing [Now I'll Never See Jerome Work That Mirror]
The Time played fifteen shows in Las Vegas over the course of the summer, following their reunion at the Grammys, and that wasn't something worth letting me know about, Internet? I spend my days looking for music-related information, and at no point could you be bothered to tell me that the original lineup of the Time—with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis—was performing five hours from my home? Instead, all I got from you were videos of bears dancing to Lil Jon tracks! I don't want to seem unappreci
Blur Reunite For London Concert, Possible Glastonbury Slot
After months of rumors, informal lunches and supposed practices, Blur finally revealed today that the Damon Albarn-led band will reunite for a concert at London’s Hyde Park on July 3rd, 2009. Guitarist Graham Coxon, who left the band during the recording of 2002’s Think Tank, will join his bandmates Albarn, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree. “It just felt it was right again,” Albarn said of Blur’s reunion, “It somehow feels like there’s someth
Damon Albarn Allows Blur Fans To Dream Again [Coachella Organizers, Call Your Office]
In the wake of a recent lunch date with estranged guitarist Graham Coxon, Damon Albarn has remarked to the BBC that a Blur reunion is "very possible." Albarn left things on a cryptic note with the interviewer, saying "It's very possible I'll go back to Blur, it really is very possible" and "It's good, but I can't really say any more than that." Coxon has been working with Pete Doherty recently, so clearly he'll be tied up with that for some time, and Alex James is busy with his cheese, but at least there's

When he's not slagging off his own country, Noel Gallagher is at his best when turning the mouthy screws on his Little Brother. That little under-the-bus gem didn't make UK rag the Mirror's Top 10 Noel one-liners, but there are a few doozies in the mix, including that old chestnut regarding Blur's Damon Albarn and Alex James. "I wish the pair of them would catch AIDs and di
Damon Albarn: 'Blur reunion is possible'
Damon Albarn has said that a Blur reunion could be possible in the future – despite rumours suggesting that it was he who was holding back a possible reformation.
Last month Graham Coxon responded to comments by Albarn, after the frontman suggested that Blur were "over".
However, Albarn has since told BBC Newsbeat that far from being "over", a reunion could be on the cards.
"It's very possible I'll go back to Blur," he said, "it really is very possible."
Albarn went on to say that he had smoot

They will be onstage together for the first time since their Royal Festival Hall performance in 2000.
